The CIRKbeing project is a series of four exchange programs for young students (age 14–24) from four youth circus organizations. Its main focus is connecting a passion for contemporary circus, circus pedagogy, and youth mental health.
We want the participants to enjoy circus in new places with new people. At the same time we consider the environment where circus activities take place to be a safe space to start a dialogue between instructors and participants about the mental well-being (or struggles) of young people. The project thus also focuses on a highly relevant topic for teenagers today: mental health, how circus can support them, and why we feel good in the circus environment.
